Cyclone YAAS will landfall on evening of the 26th....

The state government has drawn up a blueprint to deal with possible storms in the  Bay of Bengal.  By the 26th, the storm is likely to face north and touch the ground.  The state government has therefore contacted the coastal district administration to review the preparations.  All wind shelters and other infrastructure have been asked to be repaired.  The low pressure area will form in the Andaman Sea on the 22nd and landfall between Odisha and West Bengal on the evening of the 26th.

 Preparation for the storm.  The state government has begun preparations for a possible storm in the northern Bay of Bengal.

 Preparations have begun at the district and state levels following the Chief Minister's order.  "The rescue squad wasn't called for him," she told the Associated Press.  The SRC has held talks with the district commissioner and departmental officials.  Plans have been made for how many teams of firefighters, NDRFs, and Oddrafs will be sent to which places.

 All wind shelters and other infrastructure have been asked to be repaired.  In the aftermath of the storm, the Panchayat Raj and the Department of Drinking Water have been asked to keep the tank ready for drinking water supply.  The department has been instructed to keep an eye on how many manpower and how much equipment will be needed for the electricity connection.  The government has instructed the Department of Public Works to be prepared for road closures immediately after the storm.

 The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued.  As a result, light to moderate rain is expected in most parts of coastal Odisha from the night of the 22nd with heavy rainfall in one or two places.  The intensity of the rain will increase later.  However, it could take on a much larger scale than the previous one, meteorologists said.  The storm is expected to make landfall between Odisha and West Bengal on the evening of the 25th.  So where to touch the coast can be accurately estimated once the low pressure area is created, meteorologists said.
