Now corona drugs will be used in our country. The corona drug 2-Dioxy-D-Glucose (2-DG) was unveiled on Monday. The new drug, developed by DRDO, was approved by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Dr. Harsh Bardhan has made it public. It will be used in people with coronary heart disease who have moderate to severe symptoms. 2-DG is allowed to be used by Drug Controller of India. The 2-DG drug was developed in collaboration with DRDO's Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Science and the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology in Hyderabad.
The drug, dubbed ‘2-Dioxide-Glucose’ or ‘Two-DG’, has been developed by ‘DRDO’ lab in collaboration with the renowned Hyderabad drug manufacturer ‘Dr. Reddy's Laboratory’. According to defense sources, a type of "artificial glucose molecule" in the drug is blocking the virus in the body. The powder, which comes in powder form, can be taken with water.
"The first and second batch of 'Two-DG' will be applied in limited quantities," said DrGD Satish Reddy, chairman of DRDO. They will be donated to "AIIMS, "Armed Forces Hospital", "DRDO Hospital" and, if necessary, to some other hospitals. It will be available in all hospitals since June.
On May 8, the "Drug Controller General of India" approved the use of the drug for the treatment of mild to moderate fatal Covid-19 infections.
In the second phase of the test, between May and October last year, it was found to be effective in the treatment of Covid-19 patients. In particular, the cost of hospitalization and oxygen dependence in these patients is declining.
